Summer is always a bustling time for families. Yet, this does not exclude the British Royal family, whilst August has been a busy month for the Windsors. However, what has recently occurred?

From major royals like Princess Anne, to the young mother Princess Eugenie, significant events have happened in the last few weeks. 2026 has been an important chapter for the British royal family.

Princess Eugenie's regal 2026 surprise

Queen Elizabeth II's granddaughter, Princess Eugenie, was originally sixth inline when she was born. Daughter of the former Prince, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson, she has been a prominent public figure for decades. Excitingly, Princess Eugenie announced the birth of her first daughter "Adelaide Elizabeth Annina Brooksbank". Baby Brooksbank is fifteenth in line for the throne.

As of recently, her family of five have moved to Portugal. Reportedly, the luxurious Portuguese Property is worth around £3.6 million, near the CostaTerra area. This seaside paradise has allegedly been visited by Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex. They continue to share a close bond, despite current royal tensions. Whilst, her young daughter was born in Portugal, this reflects Eugenie's admiration and comfortability of her new residence. However, the Brooksbanks still visit the UK, to maintain family; business connections.

Princess Anne's 76th birthday

Dubbed as one of the most diligent royal workers, Princess Anne celebrated her birthday on the 15th August 2026. As the only daughter and second child of Queen Elizabeth II, her life has been broadcasted since her birth in 1950. Her father Prince Philip developed a deep connection with her and couriers stated that Anne was "the son he never had". The two had more in common. From shared passion for sports and equesterianism, this formed the unbreakable daughter and father bond. Uniquely, her horse riding interested was passed down to her daughter Zara Tindall. Tindall, even won second place in the 2012 olympics, which was awarded by her own mother. Alongside this, her son Peter Philip's pursued passion in sports like Rugby, like his mother and grandfather. Currently, Princess Anne is an actively participating in royal events and is a face of the modern monarchy. 

Prince Harry planning to move back to England

Excitingly, Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan, are anticipated to locate in the United Kingdom by the end of the month. Reportedly, this will be a non-royal residence outside the London area.  The Sussex's will not attain royal duties, but instead focus on family life. Their children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, will be attending a British school in Autumn. Originally, leaving royal life and moving to the States in 2020, the pair have been not visited the UK since Queen Elizabeth's funeral. Relationships in the royal family have weakened, primarily between King Charles and Prince William. Hopefully with the move, this will reconcile the strained connections and mark a new chapter in the Sussex's lives.

Throughout the year, key events happen to the royal family. From funerals, to weddings to births, it is the cycle of every family life. However, with recent royal news, what is next for the most famous family?
