A man who ran off after two vicious assaults on a woman has been jailed.

He launched his first attack on the woman in October 2024.
McGahan then left the address but returned later the same day. He punched the victim and fought with her until officers were able to arrive.
When he was told that he was under arrest, McGahan ran off into the nearby woodland. Staffordshire Police then tracked him down and brought him in, where the evidence was then submitted for the charges.
McGahan was left with no choice but to admit what he did in court.
As part of his sentencing, he was also given a restraining order, stopping him from contacting the survivor for eight years.
Detective Constable Reece Hingley, from Staffs Police CID (criminal investigations department), worked on the case. He said: “The violence that the survivor in this case was subjected to was utterly deplorable, and I’m pleased that we’ve been able to secure this outcome for her.
“We will continue to take robust action against those responsible for high-harm offences in Staffordshire and protect those affected by these crimes.”
