10 Downing Street is welcoming Labour leader, Andy Burnham. Starting his prime minister journey with a promising speech, what did this entail?
Firstly, the prior Manchester mayor highlighted his Buckingham Palace visit, where he began to form his government. As the seventh prime minister since 2016, Burnham emphasised the need for "reflections and resolutions."
The new leader of the UK, underlined current issues by stating that, Britain needs stability. This was caused by a range of reasons like: an unstable government, financial challenges and the cost of living. However, Burnham has tried to innovate hope to people at home. In his speech, he included that he will implement improvements in Britain.
Supposedly, this will include a new political and economic model.

This was majorly significant in Northern England. From employment opportunities reducing, to people's health declining, this had irreparable effects to livelihoods and ways of life. A host of job industries collapsed such as: the coal industry, car manufacturing companies and the production of steel.
This was noted in Burnham's oration, as he aspires to spread political power from London to across regions in the United Kingdom. A part of plans is to establish a new "No 10 North." This will not only make his travel journeys more simple, but act as a symbol of growth and renewal in the north.
Additionally, himself and his government plan to boost the economy and build more council homes. Andy Burnham announced in his own words "We will help more young people into work by changing the education system and giving them more support, more mental health support. And we will build more council homes."
How does altering our education systems and construct more council homes, improve our economy?
The education system is the foundation of Britain. As the highest population in Europe being homeschooled, this highlights some problematic issues in the economy. Around one in five children at the age of eighteen, left without standard qualifications. These issues at hand emphasise hardships facing children.Hopefully, the new government's changes will strengthen the British education system and student's experiences at school.
Building council homes will have positive impacts. From mitigating homelessness, to aiding financial growth, new properties are going to strengthen the economy. By providing stability to individuals, it is a step closer for others to reach for employment opportunities.

Reassuringly, the Prime Minister brought up the cost of living challenges and how he hopes to change it. Burnham anticipates to start the alterations from today; to ease financial challenges. The prime minister declared "I will soon go through that door behind me and issue my first instruction, to end rough sleeping in our country."
Whilst the speech progresses, Burnham adds that he wants to unify the country, through working together. In his own words, "I will give this my all" shows a new face of parliament.

In Greater Manchester, Andy Burnham has had a powerful impact across the borough. From providing better access to public services (like the Manchester Bee Network), many Mancunians have applauded his hard work. However, what are some people's worries about the new Labour leader?
One main worry is the clean air act. Originally, areas around Greater Manchester would be charged to enter fundamental roads. This worried many residents around the area, as it would be unaffordable for local lives. Reportedly, in some areas it would cost drivers £10 to access a road one way. This would have a detrimental impact on individuals, alongside the cost of living challenges. However, as the plans were cancelled by the previous government, it did not go ahead. Instead Burnham boosted the bus services by encouraging access to public transport.
What will Burnham's parliament bring?
Only time will tell Burnham's impact across the United Kingdom. Although, his influence has been visible already, as he is reducing VAT from household electricity bills in Autumn. Saving around £45 per year, many are wanting new changes like this from the government.
