Family pay tribute to ‘beautiful’ woman who died following collision

The family of a 19-year-old woman who died following a collision in Armitage have paid tribute to a “beautiful young woman” whose kindness and caring nature touched those around her.

Harriet Boyles, from Stoke-on-Trent, suffered serious injuries after the Ford she was travelling in collided with a tree on Lichfield Road in the early hours of Saturday 22 August.

Officers from Staffordshire Police were called to the scene at around 1.35am and Harriet, who was a passenger in the vehicle, was taken to hospital.

Sadly, she died four days later, on Wednesday 26 August.

Harriet’s family described the 19-year-old as a kind, warm and caring young woman who had already made a lasting impression on the lives of those who knew her.

In a tribute released through Staffordshire Police, her family said: “Harriet was a beautiful young woman whose kindness, warmth and caring nature touched everyone who knew her.”

They said family meant everything to Harriet and described her as a devoted daughter, sister, relative and friend who brought “joy, laughter, and comfort wherever she went”.

Harriet had been Head Girl during her time at high school and was preparing to begin an apprenticeship in finance.

Her family said she was excited about her future and taking her first steps towards what they described as a promising career.

They also revealed that Harriet became an organ donor following her death, donating six organs.

Her family said: “Even in her passing, Harriet's generosity and selflessness continued to shine.”

They added that her organ donations had helped to save and transform the lives of others, describing the decision as a reflection of Harriet’s desire to help people and make a difference.

Concluding their tribute, Harriet’s family said: “She will be forever loved, forever remembered, and never forgotten.”

A 23-year-old man from Newcastle-under-Lyme, who police said was driving the Ford, has been arrested on suspicion of driving offences.

He has since been released on conditional bail while Staffordshire Police continue their investigation.

Collision investigators are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident, has information about what happened, or may have relevant dashcam footage to come forward.
