Hi! My name is Matthew Jerome; I’m a student in my second year of university which means I should probably be focusing much more on my assignments… but instead I prefer to obsess over pop culture.

In Matthew's Own Words ...

My background lies in my incomprehensible love for all things celebrities and music, where I’m guaranteed to be at an absolute minimum of one concert a month. I am a self-proclaimed Ticketmaster warrior, and if I want tickets to see one of my favourite artists then best believe I will be there (even if my bank account would advise otherwise). 

I undeniably love writing, but even more so when it’s something I’m super passionate about; pop culture shapes all of us in more ways than you might think (and I also don’t get to explore topics this fun in my English degree). 

Saying this, I’m an active contributor in both my university’s History Student Times, and my own Substack where I delve into my love for film on there too. So, rest assured that my blog posts will not be in omission of some passion-driven opinion, all whilst informing you on the latest everything pop culture related!

Some interesting facts about me:

• I have a Paramore ‘Brand New Eyes’ tattoo on my arm 
• My favourite animal is a panda, and I actually went to China when I was younger to go see some!
• A couple pieces of my creative writing work have actually been published!

• Favourite gig you’ve ever been to? Paramore’s This is Why tour in 2023 (was at barricade by the way)
• Favourite food? Pizza (especially with pineapple on it)
• Cold weather or hot weather? Cold weather (I own hardly any summer clothes)
• Favourite song of all time? Crystal Clear by Hayley Williams (hearing this live was euphoric)
• Early-riser or late-riser? Late-riser (not beating the student stereotypes)
