Luke Patrick

Hello, my name is Luke Patrick. I am 24 years old and an aspiring journalist from Leeds. I am looking forward to starting my ten-part blog series on the top upcoming games of 2026, beginning with Subnautica 2.

In Luke's own words ... 

I have been interested in writing since I chose my A-level subjects at school, as part of my media course was creating my own magazine. I really enjoyed writing about subjects I am interested in, which is why I am focusing on gaming for my blog.

Building on this foundation, I went on to complete a Multimedia Journalism degree at the University of Salford in 2020. During my studies, I explored a wide range of topics across various platforms, including online and radio. In my second year, I had the opportunity to specialise further, focusing on feature writing and podcasting. Most notably, my experience grew while working as a Trainee Digital Journalist for the Blackpool Gazette and the Lancashire Evening Post. My beat covered everything from new local businesses to under-investigated crimes in Lancashire, as well as many of Blackpool's most prestigious events, including the Blackpool Illuminations Switch-on event, the Air Show, and Lytham Festival. 

Now, drawing from both my journalistic experience and my lifelong passion for gaming, I am excited to be writing about one of my favourite hobbies.

• I completed a month-long expedition in Peru in 2018
• I am big fan of bouldering
