Hello, my name is Luke Patrick, and welcome back to my series on the top upcoming games of 2026. This week's instalment will focus on Star Wars: Galactic Racer.
Get ready to race into a brand new Star Wars adventure. Star Wars: Galactic Racer is set to release on October 6 2026, and it will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, and PC.
The game was first revealed in a trailer at that year’s Game Awards in December 2025.
This game traces its roots to the first film in the prequel trilogy, where young Anakin Skywalker enters a pod race to win his freedom from slavery and the parts needed to repair Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn’s stranded starship.
Players can experience the speed and power of pod racers across three modes: campaign, multiplayer, and arcade.
The campaign is set after the events of Return of the Jedi and the Empire’s defeat. The protagonist, Shade, must enter a murky world of speed, gambling and entertainment as he races in the Galactic League in the Outer Rim. Fighting to become an elite racing pilot and triumph over his rival, Kestar Bool.
Players can race each other online to become the best in Star Wars: Galactic Racer multiplayer. As they race across countless iconic Star Wars planets, including Ando Prime, Tatooine, Lantana, Sentinel One, Jakku and more. Watch out for other racers, as the mode is PvP (Player versus Player), so expect some bumps along the way.
As any Star Wars fan will tell you, no character is complete without their own iconic ships and in Star Wars: Galactic Racer. Players will be able to choose from a wide range of different speeders, skim speeders, speeder bikes and even Anakin Skywalker’s old rival, Sebulba’s orange pod racer from The Phantom Menace.
Every racer will have its own strengths and weaknesses, whether you want to weave in and out of opponents with precision or own the track in a larger ship. There is a ship for every play style.
The game was developed by Fuse Games and published by Lucasfilm Games, with Secret Mode.
Players can customise their vehicles to give them the competitive advantage for racing through ice planets, through the wreckage of star destroyers and many more amazing environments.
The final mode for Star Wars: Galactic Racer is the arcade mode, which will feature classic time trials, custom objectives and standalone exhibition events.
While players will be able to purchase the standard edition of the game, two deluxe versions are also available for the biggest Star Wars fans in the galaxy. The Deluxe Edition will contain three exclusive Kor Sarun vehicles. The Dare X land speeder, Ciza T Speeder Bike and the Race S Skim Speeder. Arcade time trials for those three vehicles. Deluxe livery inspired by the Naboo N-1 Straighter, Deluxe insignia and background for player banner, digital art book and the Steel Case with sleeve for the physical version for Xbox and PlayStation.
If players want to get the ultimate Star Wars: Galactic Racer experience, they can purchase the Collector’s Edition, which is the physical version. It contains all of the Digital Deluxe Edition content, as well as a metal model of Kor Sarun: Darc X Landspeeder, Kestar’s Banner featuring Bool Family Sigal, Pilot patches for the main character, Shade, and their rival, a Physical art book, and a Steel Case with a cardboard slipcover.
