Contributions Policy
This Contributions Policy explains and governs how Devote Radio ("we", "us", "our") handles any content you submit, including (but not limited to) messages, audio clips, stories, suggestions, images, or any other material ("Contribution"). By sending us a Contribution, you agree to the following terms.
How Contributions May be Sent
You may send us Contributions in various ways, including (but not limited to):
- Forms on our website
- The Devote Radio App
- Text or messaging services (such as SMS and WhatsApp)
- Social Media Platforms (such as Facebook, X (formerly known as Twitter), Instagram, TikTok)
- Phone calls or voice messages
- In-person at events, outside broadcasts, or promotional activities
- Any other method we make available
These examples are not exhaustive. Any content you provide to the station by any means may be treated as a Contribution under this policy.
Permission to Use your Contribution
By submitting a Contribution, you grant us a royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, non-exclusive licence to use, edit, adapt, broadcast, reproduce, publish, share, or distribute your Contribution in any media, for any purpose.
This may include (but is not limited to):
- Reading, referencing, or playing your Contribution on-air
- Sharing it on our website or social media
- Including it in promotional materials or trails
- Using it in podcasts, repeats, or future programming
- Editing it for clarity, length, or compliance with broadcast standards, guidelines and regulations
You also confirm that your Contribution is your own work, or that you have permission to submit it, and that it does not infringe the rights of any third party.
No Guarantee of Use
We receive many messages and Contributions. Submitting a Contribution does not guarantee:
- That it will be read or played on-air
- That it will be acknowledged or responded to
- That it will appear anywhere in our content
All decisions regarding the use of Contributions are made at our discretion.
Accuracy and Responsibility
You are responsible for ensuring that any information you submit is lawful and accurate. You must not send anything defamatory, abusive, obscene, discriminatory, or otherwise inappropriate. We reserve the right to refuse, edit, or delete any Contribution.
Privacy and Personal Data
Please avoid including unnecessary personal information in your Contribution. Any personal data you provide will be handled in line with our Privacy Policy. By submitting a Contribution, you consent to us processing your data for the purpose of managing and potentially using your submission.
Withdrawal of Permission
You may contact us through our website to request that we do not use your Contribution in future programming or publications. However, in doing so, you acknowledge and agree that:
- We are not required to remove, edit, or withdraw any Contribution that has already been broadcast, published, or incorporated into our content (including repeats, catch-up or on-demand services, podcasts, archives, and promotional materials)
- Once a Contribution has been used, we may continue to store, distribute, rebroadcast, and make it available as part of our existing output and archives
- Withdrawal of permission applies only to future uses that have not yet been produced or scheduled, and will be applied at our discretion.
Age Restrictions
We are unable to accept Contributions directly from those under the age of 13 due to data protection legislation. Those under the age of 13 should ask a parent or guardian to submit Contributions on their behalf. Those aged 13 to 18 confirm that they have permission from their parent or legal guardian to submit their Contribution.
We may request proof of age or parental/guardian consent if necessary.
Changes to this Policy
We may update this Contributions Policy at any time, without warning. The policy in force at the time a Contribution is submitted will apply to that Contribution at all times, even following an update to this policy, unless otherwise stated. The version displayed on our website is the one currently in effect. You are responsible for checking and ensuring you agree with this policy each time you submit a Contribution.
